Our Story
The Mahji Bird was born from a simple idea: Mahjong is better when it's shared.
Founder Michele Humphreys first learned to play Mahjong and quickly fell in love with the game—not just for the strategy and beautiful tiles, but for the way it brings people together. She began teaching friends and family so they could learn and play together, creating memories around the table that soon became something much bigger.
As Michele's love for Mahjong grew, so did her vision. She wanted to create a business where friends could share in the experience, too. What started as one woman's love of Mahjong has grown into a community of women who teach, play, create, and celebrate together.
At The Mahji Bird, we believe Mahjong has a unique ability to connect generations and create lasting friendships. Whether you're picking up tiles for the first time or deepening your love of the game, you'll find a welcoming space to learn with confidence, play with joy, and make memories that last long after the last tile is played.
